
HURON – The top three seeds all advanced to the semifinals of the Class B State Girls’ Basketball Tournament at the Huron Arena, but a couple were definitely tested.
Top-seeded Castlewood had a tough time shaking Waverly-South Shore before securing a 61-55 victory. While second-seeded White River scored a double-digit win over Viborg-Hurley 65-53, third-seeded Corsica-Stickney fought off Herreid-Selby Area 47-45. Ethan rallied to take down fourth-seeded Hanson 52-49.
Rylee Rossow scored 14 points and hauled down 14 rebounds for Herreid-Selby Area, which trailed by 12 points at the half. Rachel Fiedler also had 14 points, while Lauren Grage added 13 for the Wolverines, who face Viborg-Hurley in consolation round action this afternoon at 2 p.m.
