Central collecting canned goods at ESD Meet

Aberdeen Central is hosting this year’s Eastern South Dakota Conference track and field meet today at Swisher Field and is collecting canned foods during the meet. The event is being billed as the Aberdeen Central Gold Hour.

The Golden Eagles coaches and athletes had a competition at practice on Thursday to see who could bring the most canned goods. They have challenged the other ESD schools to have one canned good donated for every athlete and coach.

Fans are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable item to donate. All of the items will be given back to the community through the Salvation Army, another charity or a family who needs it.
