Class A Track and Field Leaders

A pair of Milbank Area athletes worked their way up the statewide leaderboard this past week.

Ryker Trevett is now second in the Class A boys’ shot put while seventh-grader Ashlynn Batchelor moved up to second in the 3,200-meter run.

The Bulldogs continue to be found in numerous events.

Bennett Schwenn is first in the triple jump with a leap of 45-feet, 71/2-inches, is fifth in the long jump, seventh in the 200 and eighth in the 100. He also runs on the sprint medley relay squad which has the top time, and the 1,600-meter relay which is second. Nick Batchelor is third in the 3,200 and fourth in the 1,600, and Karson Weber is fourth in the pole vault. In the girls’ division, Milbank’s Greta Snaza is first in the pole vault and the Bulldogs are fifth in the 3,200-meter relay.

Other Northeast Conference athletes with top marks so far this spring include Andrew Kranhold of Sisseton who is second in the high jump, Drew Reetz of Webster who is second in the pole vault, Gracelynn Leiseth of Hamlin who is first in the discus and second in the shot put, Makenna Prouty who is first in the high jump, Kami Wadsworth of Hamlin who is third in the shot put and discus, Teryn Jandel of Redfield who is fourth in the 200, Annie Witt of Webster who is tied for third in the pole vault, and Morgan Fiedler of Aberdeen Roncalli who is fifth in the triple jump.
