Despite wet, windy and cool conditions, track and field athletes were able to record some season-best performances last weekend.
Sam Rohlfs of Aberdeen Central clocked his best time of the spring in the 200 during the Al Sahli Invitational at Swisher Field. Rohlfs ran a time of :22.60 in the rain which is the fourth fastest time in the state.
The junior is also second in the long jump and triple jump and sixth in the 100-meter dash.
Josh Martin has the second best times in the 1,600-meter run and 3,200-meter run. Daniel Street is fourth in the 3,200 and eighth in the 1,600. Both are members of a 3,200-meter relay squad which is fifth.
On the girls’ side, Central is second in the sprint medley relay. Members are Abigail Witte, Brooklyn Kusler, Abby Kopecky and Melanie Jacobs.
Individually, Lexi Olson is fourth in the discus, Johanna Jarrot is tied for fourth in the high jump, and Makenna Glanzer is tied for fifth in the pole vault.
