Sam Rohlfs has gotten better as the season has gone one. The Aberdeen Central junior now tops three individuals events among the Class AA track and field leaders.

Rohlfs, who set personal records in a variety of events at the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet nearly two weeks ago, had another huge day at the Last Chance Meet in Huron last week. Rohlfs now leads the 100-meter dash, the long jump and is tied for first in the triple jump. He is also fourth in the 200-meter dash.

Central’s Josh Martin continues to have the second best time in the 3,200-meter run with teammate Daniel Street fourth. Both are members of the top 3,200-meter relay squad along with Cole Burris and David VanVeen.

Jacob Merxbauer is fourth in the triple jump.

On the girls’ side, Abby Kopecky is second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles. Lexi Olson is fourth in the discus and joining the top eight in that event this week is Grace Kuch.

Johanna Jarrot is tied for fourth in the high jump and Makenna Glanzer is tied for fourth in the pole vault. The girls’ sprint medley relay is third.
