Three Lake Region Conference athletes lead a total of five individual events in the final Class B track and field leaders of the season.

Zander Widener of Langford Area leads both the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles. Cody Larson of Warner tops the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs. Alec Maier of North Central has the top time in the 800-meter run.

Those individuals are factors in other events as well. Widener runs on some top relay teams, Larson is third in the 800 and also runs on a rated relay, and Maier is third in the 400-meter dash, and fifth in the 200.

Other LRC athletes are also highly rated. Isaac Sumption of Frederick is tied for second in the 100, and is third in the 200. Warner’s Dawson McNeil is second in the shot put, and Ipswich’s Eric Severson is second in the discus.

The Potter County girls continue to set the pace in the 3,200-meter relay. Emily Breske of Dakota Hills is tied for first in the high jump. Stevie Wittler of Sully Buttes is second in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.
