Andrew continues to dominate at Olympic Trials

OMAHA, Neb. – Former Aberdeen resident Michael Andrew continues to have a huge U.S. Olympic Trials.

Andrew, who qualified for the Olympic Summer Games in Toyko, Japan, on Monday by winning the 100-meter breaststroke, added another event to his Olympic schedule by winning the 200 IM on Friday with a time of 1:55.44. On Saturday night Andrew won his heat in the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 21.55 seconds. He will try to qualify in that event during today’s finals.

Andrew spent part of his childhood in Aberdeen where he competed for the Aberdeen Swim Club and the Aberdeen Aquaholics. He currently lives in California.

The Olympics will take place July 23-Aug. 8.
