Andrew qualifies for third Olympic event

OMAHA, Neb. – Michael Andrew capped his U.S. Olympic Trials by qualifying for this third individual event in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Toyko, Japan. The former Aberdeen resident finished second in the 50-meter freestyle Sunday night.

Andrew clocked a time of :21.48. Caeleb Dressel won the event in a time of :21.04.

Andrew, who swam for the Aberdeen Swim Club and the Aberdeen Aquaholics, earlier qualified for the Olympics by winning the 100-meter breaststroke and the 200 IM.

The Olympics will take place July 23-Aug. 8.
