The Brandon Valley offense was out in full force at Fossum Field on Wednesday. The visitors scored early and often on the way to a sweep over the Aberdeen Smittys in American Legion baseball action.
Brandon Valley scored four times in the first inning and three times in the second on the way to a 15-6 win in the opener. Nine different Brandon Valley players had hits and the squad also took advantage of eight walks. Tyler Schelske had three hits to lead the attack.
Josh Steinwandt powered the Smittys with three hits and drove in a pair. Matt Feiock finished with two hits. Tyler Hoffman had a triple, while Feiock and Max Prehn each doubled for Aberdeen, which had 11 hits in the setback. Prehn also knocked in two runs.
Brandon Valley was right back at it in the second game, plating four runs in the first inning, and six runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings in a 16-2 victory.
Michael Chevalier wielded the big stick for Brandon Valley with three hits. He also drove in five runs and scored three times to lead the triumph. Five different players had at least two hits for the visitors.
The Smittys received hits from five different players, including a double from Nick Clemens and a triple from Hoffman.
