Aberdeen Central’s Greg Murley, Aberdeen Roncalli’s Diana Reynen, and Langford Area’s Taylor Reints have won coaching awards from the South Dakota Cross Country and Track and Field Coaches Association. Other area winners include Eric Townsend of Milbank Area and Jessica Larson of Potter County.

Murley was the named the Boys’ Coach of the Year for the West Division Class AA. Reynen was named Assistant Coach of the Year for Area 1 in Class A. Reints was named the Coach of the Year for Area 1 in Class B. Townsend was named Coach of the Year for Area in Class A. Larson was named Assistant Coach of the Year for Area in Class B.

Area 3 Class B Coach of the Year, Ron Detterman of Burke; Class B Assistant Coach of the Year, Jesse Kroupa, Viborg-Hurley; Class A Coach of the Year, Lawron Bohr, Mount Vernon-Plankinton; Class A Assistant Coach of the Year, Dave Touch, West Central.

Area 4 Class B Coach of the Year, Karol Patterson of Wall; Class B Assistant Coach of the Year, Ashley Kier of Wall; Class A Coach of the Year, Royce Wuertzer of St. Thomas More; Class A Assistant Coach of the Year, none.

Class AA East Boys’ Coach of the Year, Jason Wagoner of Sioux Falls Roosevelt; Boys’ Assistant Coach of the Year, Bill Weber of Watertown; Class AA East Girls’ Coaches of the Year, Tony Sturgeon of Brandon Valley, and Aaron Strand of O’Gorman; Girls’ Assistant Coach of the Year, Mike Putnam of Brandon Valley.
