WAUBAY – Aberdeen Roncalli had opportunities Tuesday night and the Cavaliers took advantage of them.

Roncalli pounded out 40 kills on the way to a 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 non-conference volleyball sweep over Waubay-Summit.

Madelyn Bragg powered the Roncalli offense with 20 kills on the night.

“Madelyn Bragg definitely set the tone for our offense tonight. She was a dominant force at the net that played pretty clean with only one error,” said Roncalli coach Mandy Smid. “She continues to show that she is the type of player that the rest of her teammates look to in big moments. I think tonight was a match that hopefully gave her the confidence that she needs as well to continue to be that leader for us.”

Ella Hanson finished with a pair of ace serves and 21 digs. Maddie Huber followed with 20 digs. Olivia Hanson had 37 set assists.

“I also continue to see the confidence from some of our younger players develop and help lead to the front row success,” Smid said.

The Cavaliers, 4-1 on the season, play at Tiospa Zina on Thursday.
