PRESS RELEASE
Following last week’s game where he left after halftime, Innocent Okoh bounced back in a big way in Saturday night’s 42-14 loss to UW-Stout.
Okoh surpassed the 100 yard mark, finishing with 101 and was by far the most important member of the Saints offensive attack. He was the lone touchdown scorer of the game for Presentation with two scores in the fourth quarter.
Coming into the game the sentiment around the program was how much the team was looking forward to getting the taste of last week’s beat down out of their mouth. The first drive of the game started promisingly, but ended up fizzling out and resulted in a Luiz Ferreira punt that was not returned by the Blue Devils.
Their first drive went seven plays and was capped off by a 63-yard pass from Sean Borgerding to Levy Hammer. It would be the first of back-to-back touchdown drives ending in the hands of Hammer. He had 152 yards in the game and both of his touchdowns for Stout in the first quarter.
The Saints were again short-handed at receiver and their two leading receivers in tonight’s game were not featured at all in the offense last week. Both Cameron Sheppar and Aiden Roddy had long catches of over 45 yards.
Mike McPeek struggled again through the air, totaling just 143 passing yards on 12-30 passing, but did have a 75 yard run in the fourth quarter that set up the second rushing score of the game for Okoh.
The only area of the game that didn’t go in favor of UW-Stout was special teams, as their kicker Jack Meyer missed two extra points during the game. He did go 1-1 in his field goal attempts for the game.
The Blue Devils were strong both through the air and on the ground as quarterback Sean Borgerding threw for nearly 300 yards and four touchdowns. Rayshawn Graham topped 100 yards as well for Stout and also found the end zone a pair of times.
Presentation was led defensively by Braxton Bates once again, totaling 6 tackles including a sack. George Jones also tallied a sack for the Saints.
