Hamlin heading to state after sweeping Mobridge-Pollock

GROTON – Ally Abraham pounded out a match-high 20 kills to help power Hamlin to a State Volleyball Tournament berth with a sweep over Mobridge-Pollock in Class A SoDak action Tuesday night in Groton.

The Chargers finished with 44 kills as a team in the 25-21, 25-15, 27-25 victory. Gracelyn Leiseth had 12 kills.

Addison Neuendorf topped Hamlin with five ace serves. Kami Wadsworth dished out 23 set assists.

Hamlin, 26-6 on the season, will face Dakota Valley in the opening round of the state tourney at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18 in Rapid City.

Mariah Goehring had eight kills and two aces for Mobridge-Pollock. Emma Keller and Charley Henderson each contributed five kills. Henderson led the Tigers with three aces.

Serving: Mobridge-Pollock 54-61 7 aces (Charley Henderson 13-14 3 aces, Mariah Goehring 4-4 2 aces); Hamlin (Addison Neuendorf 5 aces).

Hitting: Mobridge-Pollock 83-97 25 kills (Goehring 18-19 8 kills, Emma Keller 19-19 5 kills, Henderson 18-23 5 kills); Hamlin 44 kills (Ally Abraham 20, Gracelyn Leiseth 12).

Setting: Mobridge-Pollock 90-91 23 assists (Keller 51-51 16 assists, Katy Kemnitz 39-40 7 assists); Hamlin 42 assists (Kami Wadsworth 23, Grace Everson 15).

Digs: Mobridge-Pollock 45 (Reagan Weisbeck 15, Ava Stoick 9, Leah Overland 8); Hamlin 62 (Alyssa West 19, G. Everson 12).

Blocks: Mobridge-Pollock 2 solos 9 assists (Landyn Henderson 1 solo 2 assists); Hamlin 2 assists (Abraham 1 assist, Emily Everson 1 assist).
