WATERTOWN – Aiden Raap continued her torrid scoring pace to help lead the Aberdeen Cougars to a 9-1 girls’ hockey win over Watertown on Sunday.

Raap, who scored four times in a win on Saturday, added four more goals against Watertown, scoring one goal in each of the first and third periods and twice in the second.

“I think she is really starting to click with her line and each of them understand where each other will be,” said Cougars coach Rob Weinmeister. “Today she was getting herself open in front of the net and her teammates were finding her. She brings a lot of energy and skates hard which has helped create scoring opportunities for her and her line.”

The Cougars set the tone early with four first-period goals. Morgan Jones, Lauren Scheel and Ema Rehder each found the back of the net for Aberdeen.

The Cougars then scored the first three goals of the second period, the last coming from Alyssa Roehrich.

Allie Woehl netted the team’s final goal.

Aberdeen has now outscored its opponents 41-3 in five victories to open the season.

“It’s a good start, but we can continue to improve as I know we have some tough games coming in a few weeks. We have an opportunity to see some other competition outside of our league that will challenge us as we travel to Jamestown on Tuesday,” Weinmeister said. “We have a few games scattered in our schedule this year with some of the North Dakota high school teams that will help make us better and prepare us as we move through the season, hoping to peak at the end.”
