WILMOT – Aberdeen Christian returned to its winning ways with a 51-33 non-conference girls’ basketball victory over Wilmot Friday night.

The third-rated Knights were coming off their first setback of the season and wasted little time in taking control against Wilmot, jumping out to a 19-7 advantage in the opening quarter.

“It was nice to get back in the win column, especially with a tough game (Saturday) in Arlington,” said Christian coach Michael Rohrbach. “We rotated quick and got a lot of our JV kids solid minutes of hopes of keeping our legs fresh for the back-to-back.”

Once again, the Knights were led by 6-foot-4 junior center Mallory Miller, who worked inside for 25 points. She also hauled down 13 rebounds.

“Mallory had another really good game,” Rohrbach said. “They just didn’t have an answer for her.”

Chloe Holt scored a career-high 10 points, including three three-point field goals.

“She had her best game of the year,” Rohrbach said.

Grace Kaiser added seven points.

Madeline Remund powered Wilmot with 18 points.

The Knights, 11-1 on the season, have a big road test today against Arlington. Rohrbach said his squad is currently working on the detailed things to help prepare for the stretch run of the season.

“We just focused on trying to do the little things right to make sure we’re improving each game and to get us ready for our next opponent,” Rohrbach said.
