Cougars close with flurry to defeat Huron

HURON – The Aberdeen Cougars exploded for seven third-period goals to defeat the Huron All-Stars 10-5 in boys’ hockey action Friday night.

The Cougars pulled away from a 3-3 tie early in the final period with a barrage of goals. Aberdeen finished with a whopping 78 shots on goal in the contest.

Mason Carrels had three goals and two assists in the victory. Jacob Scheel contributed a pair of goals and three assists. Kasen Claymore scored one goal and also had three assists.

The Cougars also received goals from Phillip Zens, Ian Ahlberg, Andrew Woehl and Carson Myhre.

Aberdeen is right back in action today, hosting Mitchell at noon at the Odde Ice Center.
