YANKTON – The Aberdeen Cougars recorded another shutout of the Yankton Gazelles on Sunday.

The Cougars, who had a tough time shaking the hosts on Saturday, were more dominant in a 5-0 triumph on Sunday.

“We changed a few things up on some of the lines today and it seemed to work out well,” said Cougars coach Rob Weinmeister. “We had a much better offense of zone attack and were able to move the puck around well.”

The Cougars received goals from five different players in the victory.

Alyssa Roehrich started the scoring with a first-period goal. Alli Stoltenburg and Olivia Sandvig added goals in the second period, and then Kailyn Poppen and Aiden Raap found the back of the net in the final period.

The Cougars outshot Yankton 32-11 in the contest.

“The girls did a good job with their cycling and puck support,” Weinmeister said.

Aberdeen moved to 10-3 overall in league play. The Cougars play at Wahpeton, N.D. on Tuesday night in a non-league matchup.
