WATERTOWN – It was a record-setting night for Maggie Fites of Aberdeen Central during a gymnastics meet in Watertown.

The sophomore established a new school record in the all-around with a total of 37.05. The old mark was set by Adrianne Skaggs back in 2009.

Fites also tied the school record during her floor exercise routine with a score of 9.6.

Ashlyn Beyer was fourth on vault and beam, and Fites was fourth on bars and fifth on floor.

Central finished third in team points behind O’Gorman and Watertown.

Fites was fourth in all-around, Beyer was sixth and Masyn Schutter was eighth.

“All the girls did an amazing job,” said Central coach Mickey Everson, “and it was definitely a team effort to pull together when we needed it.”
