The Aberdeen Central boys’ basketball team moved up two spots to third in this week’s Class AA poll.

The Golden Eagles, 12-6, claimed wins over Watertown and Brookings last week and have now won three straight and five of their last six. They were scheduled to host top-rated and unbeaten Sioux Falls Roosevelt tonight at Golden Eagles Arena, but that game has been postponed to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28.

Aberdeen Roncalli (19-1) continues to be the top-rated team in Class B girls. The Cavaliers have won nine straight games and are coming off quality wins last week against Class A Florence-Henry and Aberdeen Christian, which fell from third to fourth in this week’s B poll.

Aberdeen Christian remained third and Potter County fifth in the Class B boys’ poll.

Hamlin has now moved into the top five in Class A girls, checking it at number five. The Chargers have been just outside the top five the past few weeks.

This will mark the final week for the Class A and B girls’ polls. There will be one more poll for Class AA girls and all three classes of boys.
