ROSCOE – Fifth-rated Aberdeen Christian had its inside and outside game working in a 65-32 Lake Region Conference girls’ basketball victory over North Central Tuesday night.

The Knights turned to their high-low post feeds for scores in the lane, and also connected from the perimeter en route to the win.

Christian pulled away from a close game early with a 20-5 second-quarter surge.

“We definitely played the way we wanted to tonight,” said Christian coach Michael Rohrbach. “We moved the ball incredibly well.”

The Knights were led by Mallory Miller with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Joy Rohrbach followed with 14 points, including a pair of three-pointers, and Grace Kaiser added 11.

“Our high-low was really good, and when we move it like we did, it’s tough to defend with the height we have,” Coach Rohrbach said. “And with those high-post touches, we were able to get some good kick-out threes to go as well.”

Amree Vander Vorst topped the Thunder with 11 points. Brittney Frickson contributed eight.

Christian, 12-2 on the season, hosts Northwestern at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Aberdeen Civic Arena. The contest is part of a girls-boys Lake Region Conference doubleheader. The boys will start around 8 p.m.

“All these next few games are really important for us with seed points and wanting to play our best at the end of the season,” Coach Rohrbach said. “They’re an improved team, so we’ll need to bring our best.”
