Area Class B girls’ basketball teams have produced some quality resumes as they head into post season action this week.
Aberdeen Roncalli has been the top-rated team in the class all season, while Aberdeen Christian has been among the top most of the year.
Region 2B includes seven teams with .500 records or better, while Region 3B has five teams which are at least 13-7. That could produce some matchups to keep an eye on as teams fight for the right to advance to the round of SoDak 16 next week.
The ultimate goal is to reach the state tournament March 10-12 in Watertown.
Here is a look at each region involving area teams:
Region 1B
Today, Tuesday at highest seeds, Thursday at Webster
Two of the top three teams in this past week’s poll reside in this region.
Aberdeen Roncalli has been rated number one the entire season and the Cavaliers are the defending State A champions. It would take a huge upset to prevent Roncalli from advancing to the SoDak 16 next week.
Aberdeen Christian was rated third in the most recent poll. The Knights have several quality wins to their credit and will be favored to make it back to their second straight SoDak 16.
Warner is the only other team in the region with a winning record.

Thursday’s Games: semifinals at Webster.
Region 2B
Today, Tuesday, Thursday at highest seeds
There are seven teams with a .500 record or better in this region. Needless to say, that could produce some intriguing matchups.
Sully Buttes is the top seed. The Chargers have lost to just two Class B schools this season, but one of those was to fourth-seeded Highmore-Harrold, a potential foe in the semifinal round.

Herreid-Selby Area is the second seed. However, the Wolverines closed the season by dropping three of their last five games. A potential semifinal matchup against either Miller or Faulkton would be an interesting battle.
Fifth-seeded Lower Brule (13-7) is the real wild card here, not having faced any of the teams within the region so far this season.
Team W L
Sully Buttes 16-4
Herreid-Selby Area 13-6
Miller 12-8
Highmore-Harrold 14-6

Thursday’s semifinals: at highest seeds.
Region 3B
Today, Tuesday, Thursday at highest seeds
This is a quality region with five teams at least 13-7 or better.
De Smet is the top seed and has lost just one game all season. The Bulldogs enter the post season on a nine-game winning streak. While De Smet has not lost to a Class B team this year, it should be noted that the Bulldogs defeated potential semifinal opponent Wolsey-Wessington by just seven points during the regular season.

Castlewood is the second seed, but lost to third-seeded Arlington by nine during the season, so a potential rematch in the semifinals could get interesting.
Fifth-seeded James Valley Christian (13-7) closed the year by winning seven of its last eight and figures to be a tough out.
Team W L
De Smet 19-1
Castlewood 14-5
Arlington 13-7
Wolsey-Wessington 13-7
James Valley Christian 13-7
Estelline-Hendricks 7-13
