BRITTON – Redfield had six individual champions on the way to claiming the team title at the Region 1B wrestling tournament in Britton on Saturday.
The Pheasants scored 208 points. Clark-Willow Lake was second with 146.
Redfield qualified eight wrestlers for the upcoming state tournament in Sioux Falls. The Pheasants will also compete in the dual portion of the meet on Thursday.
Winning championships for Redfield in the region were Brady Risetter at 106 pounds, Mason Whitley at 145, Mason Fey at 160, Corbin Schwartz at 182, Sean Domke at 195, and Grady Fey at heavyweight.
Other area champions included Sisseton’s Holden Hawkins at 113, Webster’s Haeden Jorgenson at 120, Cael Larson at 138 and Caleb McGregor at 220, and Clark-Willow Lake’s Joshua Kannegieter at 126, Cael and Gunner Kvistad at 152.
Clark-Willow Lake and Faulkton both qualified six wrestlers for the state tourney.
