GROTON – Groton received at least eight points from five different players and turned back Milbank Area 59-51 in Region 1A boys’ basketball action Friday night.

Jayden Zak and Lane Tietz each scored 16 points, and Kaden Kurtz 11 for the Tigers, who pulled away from a 41-41 tie at the start of the fourth quarter. Jacob Zak and Wyatt Hearnen each contributed eight points.

Bennett Schwenn’s 19 points topped Milbank Area. Wylie Mursu and Kellen Hoeke each added 10.
