Central golfers claim top spots at Parkston Invitational

MITCHELL – Aberdeen Central grabbed four of the top five spots on the way to winning the Parkston Invitational golf tournament on Friday.

Kyley Wirebaugh was the medalist with an 88, followed by Chloe Vikander in second with a 92. Central’s Miranda Maas was fourth with a 99, and Morgan Jones tied for fifth with a 101.

“Kyley Wirebaugh had a nice bounce back day after (Thursday’s) 101 to win today,” said Central coach Kim Zimmerman. “She showed a lot of character considering she’s only a seventh-grader.”

The Golden Eagles are in action at a meet Tuesday in Pierre.
