FAULKTON – Faulkton edged Ipswich for the boys’ team title, while Miller rolled to the girls’ team crown during the Faulkton Invitational golf tournament at Lakeside Country Club on Thursday.
Ipswich’s Luke Peterson was the boys’ medalist with a 69. Jayce Pugh of Miller was the girls’ medalist with a 71.
Aberdeen Christian’s Ellis Russell carded a round of 120 as the lone Knight competing in the event.
“There were a lot of things learned for him today,” said first-year Knights coach Tyler Pridey, noting that age and experience were not in abundance in Thursday’s season-opening tournament.
“My kids have played three holes up until today,” he said. “So we went into today with that in store.”
Christian will compete in the Lake Region Conference Tournament Thursday at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
