Knights win multiple events at Webster Invitational

WEBSTER - Aberdeen Christian picked up multiple victories in both the boys' and girls' divisions of the Webster Invitational track and field meet on Friday. The Knights swept the 3,200-meter runs on the day. Holden Bartel won the boys' distance race, while Grace Steger led a strong delegation of Christian runners in the girls' race. Kathryn Steger finished second and Rachel Beaner was third. "Holden is getting some good experience in the distance races," said Christian coach Sam Bjorkman. "At his age and not being a cross country guy, every day he can get out and race is a huge opportunity to learn." The three distance girls all hit personal records and went under 13 minutes for the first time. "It was really sweet to see them running together like they do in the fall and pushing each other as a team to PRs," Bjorkman said.
