AUSTIN, Minn. – The Aberdeen Wings are not only returning home, they are coming back with a commanding series lead over Austin following a 3-2 victory during the NAHL playoffs Saturday night. The Wings own a 2-0 advantage in the best of five series and are now just one win away from advancing to the Central Division finals.

Unlike Friday’s game where the Wings had to rally for a win, Aberdeen never trailed in game two, but had a difficult time shaking the Bruins.

Landry Schmuck scored the only goal of the first period to put the Wings on top. Austin tied the game before Ronan Walsh put Aberdeen on top 2-1 midway through the second period.

After the Bruins tied the game again, Owen DuBois gave the Wings the lead for good on a short-handed goal late in the period.

Neither team scored in the final period when Austin outshot the Wings 11-3. The hosts ended up with a dozen more shots on goal in the contest, but Aberdeen goalie Anton Castro was up to the challenge with 33 saves.

Game three is Friday night at the Odde Ice Center in Aberdeen. Puck drop is set for 7:15. Game four if needed would be at the Odde on Saturday evening.
