Boekelheides have role in eight event wins at Dwight Kinney meet

ESTELLLINE – A trio of Boekelheides (two sisters and a cousin) from Northwestern had a big day during the Dwight Kinney Invitational track and field meet Tuesday in Estelline.

Jessica Boekelheide won the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes, while Ella Boekelheide won the 800 and 1,600 meter runs. Both girls ran on the winning 1,600-meter relay squad.

Ethan Boekelheide won the 400-meter dash and was also a member on the first place 3,200-meter relay squad.

Hitchcock-Tulare’s TJ Salmen won the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.

Ricky Berndt of Deuel won the 1,600 and 3,200 meter runs.
