RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Roncalli concluded its three-day tennis trip to Rapid City with a 8-1 setback to Rapid City Stevens on Saturday.

Roncalli’s Palmer Johnson recorded the lone victory for the Cavaliers on the day. He grabbed a 10-7 win at flight four singles over Dayler Segrist. The victory avenged a setback to Segrist on Thursday when Johnson fell 10-2 during the singles portion of the Rapid City Invitational.

The Cavaliers other closest matches came at flight two singles where Cason Hellwig dropped a 10-5 decision, and at flight three doubles where the team of Landon Zikmund and Gannon May also fell by a 10-5 margin.

The dual capped three days of tennis for the Cavaliers who competed in the Rapid City Invitational on Thursday and Friday, as well as a dual on Friday evening.

Roncalli will have a busy start to its schedule this week as well. The Cavaliers face cross-town foe Aberdeen Central at 4 p.m. on Monday, before hosting Watertown at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
