WATERTOWN – The Aberdeen Central tennis squad split a pair of duals to wrap up its regular season in Watertown on Thursday. The Golden Eagles fell to Watertown 7-2 and defeated Madison 8-1.
Mitchell Hofer was involved in both of Central’s victories against the Arrows. The seventh-grader won his match at flight three singles 10-5 and teamed with AJ Prehn for a 10-4 win at flight two doubles.
Central then rolled past Madison in the other dual.
The Eagles, who are coming off a third-place team finish at the Eastern South Dakota Conference tournament this past Tuesday, now have a week off before competing in the State AA tournament. That event takes place next Thursday and Friday in Rapid City.
