Class A Track and Field leaders

Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth was back at it in the shot put on Wednesday. Leiseth broke her previous state record with a throw of 49-feet, 3 1/4-inches during the Region 2A track and field meet. Leiseth is also second in the discus among the Class A leaders.

Kami Wadsworth of Hamlin is third in both the shot and discus. Among the other area leaders is Ashlynn Batchelor of Milbank Area who is third in the 1,600, Redfield’s Camryn Rohlfs who is eighth in the long jump, and Aspen Johnson of Groton who is eighth in the triple jump.

On the boys’ side, Bennett Schwenn of Milbank Area leads the triple jump, is second in the long jump, fourth in the 200, and tied for seventh in the 100.

Nick Batchelor of Milbank Area is second in 800 and 3,200, third in the 1,600, and eighth in the 400. The Bulldogs have the best time in the 1,600-meter relay and are second in the sprint medley relay.

Webster’s Drew Reetz is second in the pole vault, and Deuel’s Ricky Berndt is third in the 800, and fourth in the 1,600.
