Ipswich boys, Potter County girls come up big at Eureka Lions meet

EUREKA - The Ipswich boys won seven events, while the Potter County girls won six during the Eureka Lions Invitational track and field meet Tuesday in Eureka. Ty Kadlec led Ipswich by taking first in all four events he competed in: the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and the 400 and 800 meter relays. Teammate Carter Geditz won both the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles. The Tigers also won the sprint medley relay. Peyton Stevens led the Potter County girls by winning the 1,600 and 3,200. The Battlers also won three relay races, plus the pole vault. Aberdeen Christian received first place finishes from Shawnteah La Croix in the 200 and Rachel Beaner in the 800. La Croix clocked a time of :27.54 in the 200, her second fastest ever. "Most important is for her to just enjoy it and keep learning little by little," said Knights coach Sam Bjorkman. "If she has a great year, great, but we want to continue to think long term.
