REDFIELD – The Redfield Muskrats improved to 10-0 on the season with a pair of high school baseball victories on Sunday afternoon.
The top-rated Muskrats rolled past Elkton 14-3 before edging second-rated Parkston 2-0.
Redfield scored single runs in the first and sixth innings against Parkston, and the Muskrats were up to the task on the mound and in the field to record the victory.
Camden Osborn walked, stole second, advanced to third on a fly ball to center and then scored on a Peyton Osborn single for the first run. Peyton Osborn tripled in the sixth and scored on a sacrifice fly from Fehi Faoneula to account for the other run.
Faonelua was solid on the mound, giving up four hits and striking out five, before Keaton Rohlfs came on to record the final out in relief.
The Muskrats scored seven times in the first inning to take control against Elkton.
Camden Osborn and Seth Siebrecht each finished with two hits and drove in three runs to power the victory.
Redfield had four of its nine hits in the opening frame, combined with a pair of walks, a hit batter, and four Elkton errors to fuel the uprising. The Muskrats were also active on the base paths, racking up double digit stolen bases in the win.
