Braun wins Sanford golf tournament

YANKTON – Aberdeen’s Olivia Braun started out her summer golf season by winning a Sanford golf tournament at Dakota Dunes and Hillcrest in Yankton.

The two-day event is the first of a tour series that will continue throughout the summer.

Braun shot an 83 and an 81 on Tuesday for a 36-hole total of 164, one better than Allison Meyerink of Mitchell and Emily Kolb of Sioux Falls.

Radley Mauney of Hartford won the boys’ championship.

The series continues next week in Sioux Falls.
