Platte-Geddes eliminates Milbank at State B tourney

GREGORY – Platte-Geddes built a nine-run lead, held off a Milbank comeback, and recorded a 10-5 victory during the State B American Legion Baseball Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Dakota Munger had a huge day in the victory, finishing with three doubles and a home run, knocking in five and scoring three runs.

Caden Foxley contributed four hits, including a pair of doubles, and drove in a pair. Joey Foxley and Oakley Kott each had three hits for Platte-Geddes, which finished with 16 hits as a team.

Milbank, which was eliminated from the tourney with the setback, scored all five of its runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Merrick Junker drove in the first run on a sacrifice fly, Isaac Schulte had an RBI single, Bryce Lamp delivered a two-run double, and Joe Schulte capped the scoring on a run-producing single.

Kellen Hoeke had two hits for Milbank, which concluded the season at 22-10.
