REDFIELD – Redfield is headed back to the State B American Legion Baseball Tournament.
Redfield, which finished runner-up in last year’s state tourney, won a back-and-forth battle against Groton 13-10 in the region championship Thursday evening. Redfield will now advance to the state tournament next week in Gregory.
Groton jumped out to a 4-0 lead before Redfield knotted the score in the third inning. Groton regained the lead with three runs in the top of the fourth before Redfield went in front with five runs in the bottom half of the inning.
After Groton moved ahead again with three tallies in the top of the sixth, Redfield took the lead for good with a four spot in the bottom of the frame as Seth Siebrecht drove in the game-winning run.
Keaton Rohlfs had four hits and knocked in three runs to lead Redfield. Nolan Gall added three hits, while Camden Osborn and Kellan Hurd each had two. Gall, Hurd, Siebrecht and Elijah Morrissette each drove in a pair.
Pierce Kettering and Dillon Abeln each had three hits to top Groton. Cole Simon and Andrew Marzahn each had two. Bradin Althoff finished with two runs batted in.

Earlier in the day Groton eliminated Clark 23-6.
Kettering had two hits and knocked in four runs. Althoff and Ryan Groeblinghoff each had two hits. Althoff, Simon, Cade Larson and Andrew Marzahn each drove in three runs.
Groton had a 10 hits, and took advantage of 10 walks and four Clark errors.
