Pairings have been announced for the upcoming State A and State B amateur baseball tournaments.

The State A event will have its opening round at Fossum Field Friday through Sunday. Action gets going Friday night with Brookings against Yankton at 5:30, followed by Black Hills A’s against Renner at 8.

The losers of those games will play at 11 a.m. on Saturday and the winners will play at 1:30 p.m.

Saturday night’s action includes Sioux Falls Squirrels against Rapid City Diamondbacks at 5, followed by Sioux Falls Hops vs. Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar at 7:30.

The losers of those games will play at 11 a.m. on Sunday and the winners will play at 1:30 p.m.

The State A tournament will conclude the following weekend in Mitchell.

The State B tourney, which will all take place in Mitchell, starts on Wednesday.

First round games involving area teams include Mount Vernon Mustangs vs. Redfield Dairy Queen at 11 a.m. Thursday, Akron Rebels vs. Milbank Firechiefs at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dell Rapids Mudcats vs. Northville Merchants at 11 a.m. Saturday, and Winner-Colome Pheasants vs. Redfield Pheasants at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
