The Herreid-Selby Area Wolverines are the new top-rated team in this week’s Class 9B media football poll.

Herreid-Selby Area, which opened its season with a road victory at Timber Lake last weekend, received 14 of the 20 first-place votes. The Wolverines were rated second a week ago. Last week’s top-rated team, Dell Rapids St. Mary, fell to fourth following a setback to Hamlin, rated third in Class 9AA. DRSM received three first place votes as did Avon. Hitchcock-Tulare moved up one spot in 9B to third.

Warner moved from fifth to third in Class 9A this week. Wolsey-Wessington dropped out of the top five following a loss to second-rated Gregory.

Aberdeen Roncalli is receiving votes in Class 11B and Ipswich is receiving votes in Class 9AA.

Sioux Falls Jefferson, in just its second season, took over the top spot in the Class 11AAA this week, while West Central is the new number one in Class 11A.
