Redfield defeats Cavaliers in four sets

REDFIELD - Redfield found a way to finish off sets on the way to a 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20 Northeast Conference volleyball victory over Aberdeen Roncalli Thursday night. After the Cavaliers rebounded from a first-set setback to tie the match, Redfield was able secure tight third and fourth sets to claim the win. "We played aggressive," said Roncalli coach Mandy Smid, "but too many unforced errors gave Redfield too many opportunities." Grace Fast topped the Pheasants with 13 kills and Katie Rozell added nine. Camryn Rohlfs finished with 26 set assists, a pair of aces and 18 digs. Ella Hanson had 14 kills to lead Roncalli and Ava Hanson followed with four. Camryn Bain had two ace serves and a team-leading 27 digs. "Ella Hanson and Camryn Bain were strong leaders in the backrow," Smid said. "They extended several plays to allow our front row to finish points." The Cavaliers, 0-2 on the season, play at Miller on Tuesday before hosting Tiospa Zina on Thursday at Roncall
