MADISON – The Aberdeen Roncalli golf team used its depth to capture the team title at the Madison Invitational on Tuesday.

The Cavaliers shot a score of 350 to edge Tea Area by a single stroke.

“It was a good win today for the team,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “I hope we can build on it.”

Sawyer Henrich led the Cavaliers with an 80, tying for third place. Finn Anderson was 13th with an 86.

Chamberlain’s Dakota Munger was the medalist with a 77.

Roncalli will continue its busy week of action with a third tournament in four days, competing in the POET Invitational Thursday in Milbank.

“I’m looking forward to what our future has for our young team,” Murdy said.
