Brust produces top 20 finish at Yankton meet

YANKTON – The Aberdeen Central boys golf team finished 12th at the Yankton Invitational Friday at Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton. Central carded a four-man score of 345.

The Golden Eagles were led by Peyton Brust’s round of 5-over 77, an effort that put him in a tie for 18th. Carter Blanchard followed with a round of 86 and Cole Brust was close behind with his score of 88. Those efforts put Blanchard and Cole Brust in a tie for 56th and a tie for 62nd, respectively.

Quincy Madsen edged teammate Ryan Dykema for the fourth scoring spot by one stroke, finishing with a round of 94.

Central will head to the MItchell Invitational Friday for an early look at Lakeview Municipal Golf Course, site of this year’s Class AA state championships in early October.
