Deuel sweeps team titles at Sisseton meet

SISSETON – Deuel runners swept the team championships at the Sisseton Invitational cross country meet on Thursday afternoon.

The Cardinals had three of the top four runners on the boys’ side in scoring six points. Great Plains Lutheran was runner-up with 18. Deuel’s Ricky Berndt won the boys’ race.

Deuel edged GPL by a single point to win the girls’ team crown. Halle Bauer of Great Plains Lutheran won the girls’ race, with Deuel’s Jaycee Hourigan in second.
