Hamlin turns back Estelline-Hendricks upset bid

HAYTI – Hamlin was pushed to the limit, but remained unbeaten following a five-set victory Monday night.

The Chargers rallied past Estelline-Hendricks 21-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-17, 16-14 in non-conference volleyball action. Hamlin is now 11-0 on the season.

Ally Abraham had 20 kills, including her 1,000th career kill for the Chargers. Gracelyn Leiseth added 17 as Hamlin racked up 56 kills as a team.

Kenzy Beare topped Estelline-Henricks with 23 kills. She also added a pair of ace serves.

Serving: Estelline-Hendricks 9 aces (Maddy Ebbers 3, Kenzy Beare 2); Hamlin 6 aces (Ava Prouty 2, Addie Neuendorf 2).

Hitting: Estelline-Hendricks 44 kills (Beare 23, Brooke Johnson 8, Heidi Nicola 6, Sadie Johnson 6); Hamlin 56 kills (Ally Abraham 20, Gracelyn Leiseth 17).

Setting: Estelline-Hendricks 40 set assists (S. Johnson 30, B. Johnson 10); Hamlin 52 (Kami Wadsworth 51).

Digs: Estelline-Hendricks 157 (B. Johnson 64, Julie Williams 38, Nicola 35); Hamlin 78 (Prouty 20, Neuendorf 20).

Blocks: Estelline-Hendricks 3 (Nicola 2, Beare 1); Hamlin 4 (Abraham 2, Leiseth 2).
