IPSWICH – Aberdeen Christian was close to capturing its first win on the season, but came up a couple of points short during a match at the Ipswich Invitational volleyball tournament on Saturday.

The Knights were swept by Milbank Area 25-15, 25-10, Herreid-Selby Area 25-13, 25-14, and Leola-Frederick 25-12, 25-17, and then fell to Langford Area 24-26, 25-18, 25-23.

“We struggled to get into a rhythm,” said Christian coach Sara Powell. “We had a couple girls battling sickness, but our last game was a big one for Chloe (Bosma) with 12 kills and Alexis (Isakson) with 35 digs.”

Bosma also had a pair of aces in that match against Langford Area. Jolie Fogarty contributed two kills, 15 set assists and 15 digs against the Lions.

Christian will return to action on Monday facing cross-town foe Aberdeen Roncalli at Roncalli Gym.

“We will keep fighting each match,” Powell said.
