Roncalli girls fall in regular-season finale

Aberdeen Roncalli fell 8-1 to Sioux Falls Christian Saturday in the Cavaliers’ final regular season tennis match of the season at the NSU Courts.

Roncalli’s Raley Haskell claimed the Cavaliers’ lone win of the day in dramatic fashion, rallying from a 6-1 first-set loss to win the second 7-5 and the super tiebreaker 10-8 at No. 3 singles.

Katherine Kretchman nearly pulled off a win at Flight 1 singles. Kretchman won the first set, but fell 7-5 in the second and 10-4 in the super tiebreaker.

Roncalli will wrap up its season Oct. 3-4 at the Class A state tournament in Sioux Falls.

Ellie Lounsberry, SFC, def. River Haskell, 6-2, 6-2.

Raley Haskell, AR, def. Karly Doom, 1-6, 7-5 (10-8).

Halle Karmazin, SFC, def. Anna Mitzel, 6-0, 6-0.

Anna Westerberg, SFC, def. Keira Rivett, 6-4, 6-2.

Carly Westerberg, SFC, won by forfeit.

Doubles

Johnson-Doom, SFC, def. Kretchman-River Haskell 6-2, 6-2.

Lounsberry-Karmazin, SFC, def. Raley Haskell-Mitzel, 6-1, 6-1.

A. Westerberg-Jade TenHaken, SFC, won by forfeit.
