FARGO, N.D. – Aberdeen Central won two out of its three matches during the opening day of the Scheel’s Volleyball Tournament in Fargo on Friday.
The Golden Eagles lost to West Fargo 25-16, 25-22, and defeated Grand Forks Central 25-22, 25-12, and Oak Grove 25-17, 25-17. As a result the squad will play in the Gold Bracket when action resumes today.
“It’s always exciting to play some new teams,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “We’re looking forward to some great competition in the tournament (Saturday).”
Grace Kuch had 22 kills on the day, while eighth-grader Lauryn Burckhard had 18 to help power the Central offense.
Madison Miller led the Golden Eagles from the service line with seven total aces.
Central improved to 8-7 on the season.
