Aberdeen Christian could not sustain a solid start and was swept by Northwestern 25-14, 25-4, 25-9 in Lake Region Conference volleyball action Tuesday night at the Christian School Gym.
“We came out ready to play in the first set, but fell behind quick in the second,” said Knights coach Sara Powell.
The fourth-rated Wildcats improved to 15-8 on the season.
“We knew they were going to be tough,” Powell said. “I just asked the girls to go out and compete and have fun.”
Ella Haven had 21 kills and eight blocks to help fuel Northwestern. Ashley Haven contributed six kills, 14 digs and a pair of blocks. Brooklinn Halvorson finished with two aces, 27 set assists and six digs.
Christian featured a new-look lineup due to illness.
“We had our middle Sophia Eichler out sick, so I pulled up my seventh-grader Ari Johnson,” Powell said. “She did well and brought some different energy to the team.”
Chloe Bosma paced the Knights with four kills, an ace, and 10 digs. Sophia Fogarty also recorded four kills.
