Third-ranked Harrisburg turned on the jets Thursday night, breezing past Aberdeen Central in straight sets in an Eastern South Dakota Conference volleyball matchup at Golden Eagles Arena.
The Tigers won by set scores of 25-19, 25-13 and 25-11.
“Harrisburg is a good team,” said Central head coach Jackie Bindenagel.
The Golden Eagles were able to pose a threat in the early portions of the night using an aggressive service approach and taking advantage of a string of Tiger hitting errors.
Harrisburg, however, was able to right its ship, while Central struggled through some growing pains as it made a switch to a 6-2 offense.
“We tried some different things,” Bindenagel said. “Some of them worked, and some we’ll go back to practice with.”
Lauryn Burckhard had five kills to lead the way offensively for the Golden Eagles.
