HIGHMORE – Potter County ran away with the girls’ team title, while Philip edged Miller for the boys’ team championship at the Highmore Action Club Cross Country Meet on Saturday.
Dannika Kaup led a trio of Potter County runners in the top four spots in winning the girls’ race. Jadyn Ahlemeier finished third and Emma Schlachter was fourth. Autumn Fallis of Highmore-Harrold was second. The Battlers finished with six points to top the rest of the field by 25 points.
Things were much tighter in the boys’ division as Philip and Miller each finished with 12 points. Philip won the team title on the strength of its fourth runner.
Miller’s Pierce Baumberger won the individual race with teammate Alex Schumacher runner-up. Potter County’s Nicolas Schlachter was third, while Philip runners claimed the next four spots after that.
