SIOUX FALLS – Aberdeen Central concluded a long stretch of road matches on a high note Tuesday night.

Playing their fifth straight match away from home, the Golden Eagles used a balanced attack to fuel a 25-23, 17-25, 25-22, 25-22 victory over Sioux Falls Roosevelt.

“It was a great team effort,” said Central coach Jackie Bindenagel. “Roosevelt is a very good serving team and our passers were able to find a rhythm in serve receive once the match got rolling.”

After Central claimed the opening set, the Rough Riders leveled the match, before the Eagles regained control in the third and fourth sets. Net play was a factor down the stretch.

“Our block came to life in the third and fourth sets,” Bindenagel said, “which made things easier for our defense.”

Lauryn Burckhard had 10 kills, while Grace Kuch finished with two aces, nine kills and three blocks for Central. Madi Aldridge contribute seven kills, and Sydney Evans had two aces and 24 digs.

The win capped a five-match road swing that saw the Eagles go 4-1 during that span.

“Definitely impressive,” Bindenagel said. “They’ve been tough through this long stretch on the road.”

Central returns home to cap off the regular season when it hosts fourth-rated Sioux Falls Jefferson at 7 p.m. Thursday at Golden Eagles Arena.
